Have your say over where you want to live...
What would you prefer – being told the area you will live in or be given a choice? The answer’s obvious isn’t it? After all, if you were ‘told’ this might mean moving away from your friends, family, school, college…

But, GGH has the answer – CHOOSEaHOME!

 

 

What is CHOOSEaHOME?

Technically, CHOOSEaHOME is a 'Choice Based Lettings' scheme.  All that means is people now have more choice over the types of homes and area of Warrington they want to live in.

Before, applicants would join a ‘housing list’ and wait to be contacted about a suitable property, but now, they have more say…

 


How does it work?

Every week, available homes will be advertised:

  • in the Warrington Guardian
  • online
  • in housing offices

 

Bid for the properties you like

It’s a bit like an auction really. Members can ‘bid’ for homes, not with money, but with the time they have built up on the scheme. So, if someone had been a CHOOSEaHOME member for five years, they would have more ‘time’ to bid with than someone who had only been a member for two months.

Bids can be made:

  • Telephoning our automated bid line on 08000 64 8000 24 hours a day from Thursday to Monday
  • Email us us
  • Calling in at any GGH Office
  • Logging on to our website at www.chooseahome.org.uk
  • Text message. Send to 60066 the following:
    CHOOSEaHOME your registration number, the reference numbers of the homes you are interested in
    e.g. Chooseahome 5432 Ref 001301, Ref 0001302.

Expressions of interest must be made each Monday by 6.30pm
